Extracorporeal blood ozone and oxygenation is a major leap forward in the medical application of ozone.  EBO2 is a modern, high-volume blood/oxygen diffusion device, which uses filtration membranes within the filter that may separate out "middle molecules" which are known to stimulate inflammation in the body.  Middle molecules include: uric acid, cytokines and adipokines, which are signaling proteins that can perpetuate disease.

EBO2 is the term used to describe EBOO with the addition of light therapy using the Hemealumen device.  MAH or major autohemotherapy has been the gold standard application of medical ozone and is still useful and effective today. EBOO is the evolution of MAH to more effectively treat conditions with fewer visits.

EBOO is able to treat a much larger volume of blood, compared to standard MAH (4-8 times the blood volume.  MAH is a great option for patients who are unable to receive EBOO due to difficult veins, certain genetic and/or disease processes.
